Laura Emanuel is an actress, entrepreneur, and reiki healer who earned a MFA in acting from Carnegie Mellon University and The Moscow Art Theater School. Before moving to Los Angeles, she lived in NYC where she co-founded The American Studio Theater. She has worked at some of LA's most prestigious theaters including The Geffen Playhouse and Boston Court. Favorite roles include Viola (Twelfth Night), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) and Julia (The Two Gentleman of Verona) and performing in the LA Fringe Festival, NYC Fringe Festival, and The 2009 ABC talent showcase. Currently she was most recently seen as playing Calonice in Lysistrata Unbound at the Odyssey Theatre .

I founded Mystic Dirt six years ago. Since then it has changed and evolved. It means different things to different people on different days. And since I'm a Gemini sometimes those different people are all living inside my head. The through line is creating experiences to empower self-care, self-love and self-worth. That could be through a DIY body scrub kit, a self-care ceremony or Intuitive Reiki Coaching. One or all of these may speak to you.

Years ago, in middle school, I studied Russian with a teacher who fed us caviar, played Dr. Zhivago, and told stories of the Moscow Art Theatre. That little 12 year old girl dreamed of Acting in Russia, following the tradition of Chekhov and Stanislavski. Imagine my surprise as a young adult to be granted the opportunity to make that dream a reality, not once but twice. The years after have taken me to New York City and Los Angeles.

Before Mystic Dirt was called Mystic Dirt, I would gather with friends and sometimes strangers to make luscious potions for the body and skin. Women would share beauty recipes handed down through generations. They would also share intimately about their challenges to create time and space for self-care. From these sacred circles Mystic Dirt Self-Care Ceremonies were created.
